A Sneak Peek To Hvac

A Sneak Peek To Hvac

HVAC is the short form for Heating, Ventilating and Air conditioning system.  These systems are mostly used to improve temperature and the quality of air inside buildings and vehicles.  These systems are a main component in all types of buildings like apartments, hotels, bungalows, hospitals and other multi floor commercial properties.  They also play an important role on ships, aeroplanes, cars and submarines where it is necessary to maintain safe living conditions by maintaining the temperature and humidity indoors by using the fresh air from outdoors. The HVAC system carries the above functions with the help of many hvac parts.

Ventilation means to maintain the circulation of air indoors, introducing outside air to the indoor environment as well as removing the stale indoor air to replenish the quantity of oxygen and remove the moisture, dust, unpleasant odours from the indoor air. This process helps to improve the air quality inside the buildings and vehicles. Heaters are used to maintain the temperature and generate warmth inside the buildings. This system is required in the places where the winters are very harsh and outside temperatures dip to very low levels. Air conditioning systems provide cooling and remove humidity inside the buildings. These systems are required to maintain a pleasant indoor environment when the outside conditions are hot.

There are 3 main types of HVAC systems – the central air conditioning systems, window air conditioners and split air conditioners and the packaged heating and air conditioning systems. The selection of the system depends upon the various factors like the area to be covered, the conditions of the environment and the specific demands of the building or the vehicle. The window and the split air conditioners are suitable for apartment homes with small carpet areas, the central air conditioning systems are suitable for large corporate houses, hotels, hospitals and malls where the area is large and the packaged heating and air condition systems are mostly required in the countries where the temperature changes are extreme during summers and winters.

The energy efficiency of these systems is an important factor to consider before installing them. The energy consumption depends upon a lot of factors such as

  • The appropriate size of the system in relation to the area of your home or office.
  • The efficient functioning of the different hvac parts used in these systems.
  • The climatic conditions of the area
  • Frequency of usage
  • The type of fuel used by the system.

It is always advisable to consult a professional and experienced HVAC engineer when you are planning to install a air conditioning system at your home or office. He will be able to determine which HVAC systems will suit your requirements and suggest the system which will be able to maintain the temperature and humidity at your home in an economic way while also taking care of the environment. Majority of the people love comfort. They want their air conditioning work properly at any point in time. So, when these systems like heater and air conditioning have problems it becomes a big headache.
